Q: What is the Bliss and Wisdom College Camp?
A: It is a camp specifically designed to target college students' needs. College students are like a flower ready to bloom. A bright future awaits us. We are deciding which path to take and what do to with our lives. Some of us know for sure what we want to do in life while others do not. Nowadays, we live in a rich material world and we're inundated with lots of knowledge and messages from schools, friends, medias etc. of how to survive and succeed in this society. Yet, why are alcoholic and suicidal rates high among young people? Some people still feel unable to fulfill their desires and unsatisfied with their lives. The camp is a rejuvenation station for college students to realize and develop a side of them that they have not yet discovered. It will also help us re-evaluate our values in life and to give us a better direction in life. We can hold the key of our own happiness!

Q: When and Where is the camp held?
A: Bliss and Wisdom Foundation will be hosting a four days and three nights educational camp at Shinnyo-En USA from August 29 - September 1st.

Q: What are the programs in this camp?
A: The program focuses on improving personal relationships, bringing awareness to our environment, and establishing a balance between the body and mind regardless of your personal background. Day 1: Focuses on the reflection of our current college life Day 2: Pertains to how we can change our hectic, busy lifestyle to make it become a happier and meaningful one. Day 3: The focus is on how we can eat healthier, protect and salvage our environment as well as how we can reestablish our own set of personal values and redefine our life's purpose.

Q: How are the programs conducted?
A: Classes and activities in the retreat are simultaneously conducted in Mandarin and English. The program includes skit, guest speaker, activities/game, movie, discussion and sharing, exhibition, etc.

Q: Why should I attend this camp?
A: In the past years, majority of the participants felt reenergized after the camp. They have a better understanding of their pursuits in life and have a clearer direction about their future plans. They learned how to live a more meaningful life and re-prioritize their everyday activities. More importantly, they made a lot of new friends whom have the same goals as them! Participants feel a sense of community; everyone opening up themselves to help and care for others; this is unlike the competing world that we live in. We guarantee that any individual who participates will most definitely not regret it!

Q: What other camps have the Bliss and Wisdom Foundation sponsored?
A: We have hosted the Bliss and Wisdom Educational Camp in Taiwan and in the U.S: For over ten years, the Bliss and Wisdom Foundation has annually hosted various large scale retreats in Taiwan with over a thousand attendees and over 4000 applicants. The camps have influenced the lives of numerous university students, globally improving the education sector, and shedding hopeful lights on the business community. In the past four years, the Bliss and Wisdom Foundation in the United States have sponsored the newly formed educational camp in Los Angeles with diverse attendees who have different backgrounds and from across the North American continent.

Q: Why is the camp at such a low price?
A: Our purpose of the retreat is not for profit making, but rather to give the best to the public and to reach out to help as many people as possible. Our goal is to bring awareness on matters that are relevant to all of us, but often are neglected. There are too many suffering people out there. What we really want is for the camp participants to benefit and spread their caring forward to others. This event is made possible with the help of many Bliss and Wisdom volunteers. They devote countless hours in helping others, and through the process, they benefit themselves, learn, and grow spiritually together.

Q: Is this a religious/Buddhist camp?
A: NO, this is not a religious camp; however there will be a Buddhist Reverend present to share his perspectives on the truth of life. We are a Buddhist organization but the purpose of the camp is to focus on improving ourselves and living a better life. There are no religious classes in our program; no chanting, prostration, or sutra recitation. In the past years, many students with different religious backgrounds have joined our camp and they liked it very much and have referred friends to come. If you are interested in learning Buddhism, we do have other Buddhist classes that you can attend.
